For me, wedding bloggers are a new breed of internet celebrity. For many people who are planning their wedding, they are mentors and advisors that they’ll never meet but have shaped their big day like a wedding planner would. So as well as bringing you interviews on wedding planning topics and themes, I thought it would be great to get to know our favourite wedding bloggers. What better way to start, than by talking to one of my favourite wedding bloggers (can I say that? Oh, I just did!) Charley Beard…aka London Bride.
Former TV Production manager turned uber (my words not Charley’s!) wedding blogger and wedding planner, London Bride joins The Save The Date Wedding Podcast. Charley reveals how she made the move from television to wedding planning (you’ll be surprised!), how she nearly became a TOWIE wedding planner and how she built her blog with tens of thousands of loyal followers. She shares with Aleisha what’s fabulous about getting hitched in London Land…spoiler alert….LOTS!

Whilst entering into the industry as a wedding planner (book her, she is amaze!), Charley was uninspired by the generic, mass market wedding world so she launched one of the UK’s first wedding blogs, London Bride in 2009 to document stylish and inspirational wedding ideas. The blog has since become one of the most renowned and popular UK wedding blogs and recently received “Best London Wedding Blog” at the 2013 Wedding Magazine Awards as well as “Highly Commended” in the best wedding blog category as voted for in the Perfect Wedding Awards in 2012.
Charley has been a regular contributor and has had her planning and styling work featured in many bridal publications such as You and Your Wedding, Wedding Magazine, Brides and Perfect Wedding. She has also had work including styled shoots featured on top US blogs such as Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, Wedding Chicks and Snippet and Ink.

Amy Poehler YES PLEASE!
I love Amy Poehler. She’s sassy as hell. Hilarious and I want to be her friend.
I have been giggling whilst reading this book on the tube and bus (where people glare at me…’How DARE you smile on public transport in London’) Jerks!
She has so many nuggets of goodness that make me laugh and nod and say ‘YES!’ aloud…attracting even more weird PT looks!
“Creativity is connected to your passion, that light inside you that drives you. That joy that comes when you do something you love. That is the juicy stuff that lubricates our lives and helps us feel less alone in the world. Your creativity is not a bad boyfriend. It is a really warm older Hispanic lady who has a beautiful laugh and loves to hug.”
