I am so happy to have Jen Glantz back on the Bridechilla Podcast, to share some of her adventures, to talk about her theory that Bridesmaids are really warriors and some very handy and truth talking advice when it comes to selecting who you want to be a part of your big day and who you should ditch when it comes to your bridal party.
Listen to the Episode
A lot of people called her crazy in 2014 when Jen Glantz first put out a craigslist ad offering her services as a Bridesmaid for Hire to strangers…. but 40 brides later & a whole lot of stories saved in her brain, in her new book ‘Always a Bridesmaid for Hire’.
Today's guest, Jen shares the behind-the-scenes of what it's been like to start a business from that one "crazy idea", how it's really like to get off the plane and be a bridesmaid for someone she’s never met before, and of course, what her personal adventure has been like to find love, often times, in very hopeless places.
JEN GLANTZ...in her own words!
All my friends started getting engaged back in 2012. That’s when I was asked to be a bridesmaid for the very first time. Soon after, came the second time, and the third time, and before I knew it – my tiny NYC closest hugged more bridesmaid dresses than I had hangers for! But my Professional Bridesmaid training started a few years earlier, back in 2010, when I started traveling the country as a consultant for a national sorority. Every week I found myself hoping off a plane in a new city and working with a group of women I had never met before. I would help them organize and delegate their to-do lists, problem solve overwhelming situations, and cleanse their lives of any chaos or drama that was swimming circles around them.
I learned how to make strangers into friends and turn difficult challenges into stress-free adventures.I’m the heart behind The Things I Learned From + the main character of All My Friends are Engaged + a recurring motivational speaker and mentor + in a serious relationship with NYC pizza + and I’ve been spotted around town wearing old bridesmaid dresses to the library, grocery store, and (once) on a first date.
